Our room was close to the trash it seemed because the first day we got there, the room and the entire area smelled of sewage. The room- We stayed on the ground floor, we had a swim up pool and a jacuzzi in the room. Bring a fan with you or sit outside and have the amazing food but no entertainment. Between the stoves going and no AC, I had to go back to our room to change. The chefs put on a show for sure, singing, celebrating- it was fun however. The Japanese hibachi place- only place you need a reservation for, and you can only make the reservation that same day. Some of the restaurants had long waits, or something was wrong in the kitchen, so you could wait forever for your food. Let's start with the food: Don't waste your time with the restaurants on site, the buffet is where it's at! Get some muscles and crawfish- so good! The process to get an alcoholic beverage at times was long, be warned. This review is from the perspective of a geriatric millennial =) Overall, a good resort. Overall it was very disappointing for the cost of the property. The bar staff was friendly and attentive if you sat at the bar but at the beach side not attentive at all. The food at the buffet was never hot and it took the staff over 15 minutes to provide soft drinks. I called room service for ice that took over 40 minutes to arrive. The ice machine room was dirty, the ceiling stained and missing panels also the ice machine was dirty and did not work. There was a jacuzzi style tub in the middle of the room which I did not like and it seems that there was a curtain to close it off from the rest of the room however it was missing but the rods remained. The days we had wash cloths they were stained. We had no wash cloths for 4 out of my 6 days. One of the sinks in my room was clogged the entire stay and the staff was notified.
The rooms was unkept with chipped and scuffed furniture.
There was no elaborate entry into the lobby area for the Hideaway guest like the Royalton side of the resort.
